Quit Being A Lazy Homeseller

Whether you are selling your home yourself or using a Real Estate Agent, don’t get caught waiting around for your home to sell.  Sure if you are using a Realtor to sell your home, they are going to be receiving a commission.   However, you can still market, advertise, promote and show your home to any perspective buyer…yourself.  You are the boss when selling your home.  Don’t sit back and wait for someone else to sell your home for you.

We hear so many times that people aren’t happy with the process of selling their homes.  The Real Estate Agent isn’t showing it enough.  They aren’t as involved as we would like.  It has taken way to long.  They made me promises and those promises are long overdue.  These are valid points for sure but why are you sitting around and complaining about it?  Be proactive.

The same can be said if you are trying to sell your home by owner.  If you stick a generic For Sale sign in the front yard with your phone number written on it and have a single ad on Kijiji, with a couple bad pictures from your iPhone, do you really expect your home to sell?  Especially quickly?

Isn’t it your goal to sell your home?  Selling your home is hard work and needs many different factors to be done successfully, whether it be a Realtor, yourself or a by owner site, you will succeed in selling your home if you think differently than most people do.

You can always bring in your own buyer if you have done the work to get that buyer to your front door.  You can also negotiate with your Realtor a commission reduction if you bring in your own buyer.  You can also use a By Owner site like The Property Trader.ca to sell your home and keep all your commissions in your pocket.

If you really want to save money on the sale of your home, get to work and don’t solely rely on any person or service to solely take care of all the loose ends.  More so than not, you will be disappointed with the process and be frustrated because you didn’t get the service or results you expected.

After all, if your house doesn’t sell for months and you are sitting around hoping, waiting and wishing for it to sell.  What have you accomplished?  Nothing, you still have a house for sale that hasn’t sold and you are just months further along, delaying the inevitable.

Be part of the process to sell your home.  Yes it is one of the biggest purchases you made, so when you sell it, shouldn’t you have a say in how it sells???
